The Assam State Commission for Right to Public Services was constituted under the Assam State Right to Public Services Act, 2012. The Commission is entrusted with the responsibility of implementing the provisions of the Act, which aims to provide citizens with hassle-free services in a transparent and efficient manner while holding public authorities accountable for delivering time-bound services.

The Commission remains steadfast in its commitment to upholding citizens’ rights, ensuring an efficient service delivery mechanism, and enhancing the credibility of government functioning. It serves as the third Appellate Authority and is empowered to punish defaulting officers for delays or unjustified denial of services.

Dr. Sujoy Lal Thaosen, IPS (Retd) is the Chief Commissioner and Shri Ranjan  Kumar Chakraborty, IAS (Retd), & Shri Bimal Chand  Oswal are  two Commissioners in the Commission.
